Curriculum Review--Early Interactive Software Program (EISP)

SB55 Instructional Material Requirements

Learning Material- any material used to deliver or support student learning

Instructional Material- learning material that a local school board adopts and approves for use in the LEA

Supplemental Material- learning material an educator selects for classroom use that has not been adopted, approved, or prohibited by a local school board

In selecting and approving instructional materials, a school board shall: 

  • establish an open process to review and recommend materials 

  • post recommended learning materials online for public review 

  • hold two public meetings for teachers and parents to share views and opinions on the material 

  • adopt and approve materials in an open and regular board meeting
