SB55 Instructional Material Requirements
Learning Material- any material used to deliver or support student learning
Instructional Material- learning material that a local school board adopts and approves for use in the LEA
Supplemental Material- learning material an educator selects for classroom use that has not been adopted, approved, or prohibited by a local school board
In selecting and approving instructional materials, a school board shall:

establish an open process to review and recommend materials

post recommended learning materials online for public review

hold two public meetings for teachers and parents to share views and opinions on the material

adopt and approve materials in an open and regular board meeting
